TIVOLI PARK COPENHAGEN

History:

Tivoli is named after the Jardin de Tivoli in Paris and opened in 1843. Some of Tivoli’s buildings were burnt down by Nazi sympathizers, but the Park was rebuilt and back in operation after only a few weeks.

Description:

Tivoli is the second most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most visited theme park in Scandinavia and the fourth most visited in Europe, only behind Disneyland Paris, Europa-Park Rust and the Efteling. There is a big entry which makes the park already look very special. The park is in the center of town and easy to find. Tivoli is very expensive though, both the entry and the restaurants inside aren't really cheap. Despite that, the buildings are very impressive with all the lights and the beautiful gardens which are very well-maintained.

Experiences:

The place makes you feel like you’re in another world; the atmosphere is magical and impressive. Although it’s very expensive it’s worth the fun and to know how that big important place is built up. We went, for instance, on a roller coaster and as we finished the first round the lady asked us if we wanted to go for a second ride, so I guess in that case our 9 Euros were well invested. The experience of being in such a huge park with so many attractions (animals running freely around, for example) is really worth the visit.

Personal opinion:

We thought the place looked really impressive already from the outside and as we entered Tivoli we were overwhelmed by the garden’s beauty, the palaces’ majestic look and the way the lights created a magical atmosphere. It was a very good idea to go see Tivoli at night because of all the lights and to see the laser show was really exciting although the weather wasn’t nice. So finally we think that the money you pay to enter the park is worth paying for everything you can see and for the fun you can have there. The only thing that wasn’t positive was that the single rides and the food were both very pricey. We would recommend Tivoli to tourists of all age.
